Pianist Dichter Plays
Tonight In U-Hall

This evening in University
Hall the University Union will
present a concert by the exciting
young pianist Misha Dichter, who is
making a return appearance to the
University.

An American, Mr. Dichter was
immediately recognized as a star
pianist by the Russians at the
Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow
in 1966. Since then he has
played to capacity audience in
nearly all American and European
music capitals.

Although he drew a sparse
crowd at the University last year,
those who witnessed his performance
experienced a rare treat. Mr.
Dichter was captivating. His recital
was a blend of fire; brilliance and
poetry, and his genius at the
keyboard was apparent.

The University Union said that
Mr. Dichter's performance last year
was the "outstanding performance"
of the Artist Series, and there is no
doubt that his concert tomorrow
night will be just as good.

Critics have called him "Brilliant!
An immensely talented young
artist." (New York Times); "One of
the master pianists of our time."
(Washington Star); and "A privilege
to hear." (Daily Telegraph, London).
Anyone who hears him will
add to the list of superlatives used
to describe Mr. Dichter's ability.

Mr. Dichter's program will include
works by Bach, Beethoven,
Brahms, and Moussorgsky.

The concert begins at 8:30
Wednesday night. Tickets are $4.50
and may be purchased at the Main
Desk of Newcomb Hall, or at the
door.
