STATEMENT BY THE RECTOR

In a concluding statement the Rector congratulated Mr. J. Harvie Wilkinson, III, on his graduation and upon his appointment as Clerk to Mr. Justice Powell of the United States Supreme Court, and expressed satisfaction in learning that Mr. Wilkinson will continue his service on the Board.

The Rector expressed the gratitude of the University to Mrs. E. Alton Parrish, Sr., Dr. Edwin L. Kendig, Jr., and Mr. J. Sloan Kuykendall. He said that the dedication of these three retiring Board members had meant a great deal to the University, and that their service was deeply appreciated.
