Letter from Adelaide E. Case to Charles N. Tenney
Addie experiences conflicting emotions about the role Charlie and the other men
in her life should play: is their place at home or in the army? She gently
scolds Charlie for not writing more often, but tries hard to take an interest in
the vicissitudes of his life as a soldier and the technicalities of the
campaign. She asks him to come home on furlough, and excuses herself for not
writing at length, as her mother has not yet fully recovered from her illness.
