William Uallans of UUhartons Dreame.

It pleaseth God sometimes,
in Dreames for to declare:
VVhat woes or ioyes for vs a liue,
by him prepared are,
And as some Dreames be good,
so likewise some be vaine:
Proceeding of excesse of meate,
of drinke, of ease, or paine.
Let Pharaoes Dreame suffice,
to proue that Dreames foretell:
The Bakers and the Butlers Dreames,
and Iosephes witnesse well.
Astiages did dreame,
what hap should him befall:
And howe he shoulde by one vnborne,
lose Kingdome Crowne and all.
VVhy maie not VVhartons Dreame,
(good Reader) proue as true?
Since the effect therof be bolde,
is likelie to ensue.
Naie, if you reade the Booke:
then shall you plainelie see:
That those things needes must come to passe,
that therin dreamed bee.
And as he dreamde at night,
the wicked were in hell:
So in the daie time he hath prou'd,
the same exceeding well.
Commende therefore the Dreame,
that after doth ensue:
And eke commennde the man that proues,
his Dreame to be but true.
