Livingston.
They come to triumph in their Sov'reign's love,
To blast our credit, and commend our foes.

Chancellor.
How brave the spirit of the gallant Douglases!
A gen'rous pair! How sage Lord Fleming's counsels!

Livingston.
The crisis of our fate approaches nigh;
We must resolve; that they or we shall fall.

Chancellor.
My dulness to thy penetration yields.

Livingston.
But this so potent train—

Chancellor.
May be remov'd.
