The Grecian Story | ||
Nere Woman thought worthy of Sigh, or Passion,
Till view'd that Princess, Queen of the Creation;
In whose fair Eyes bright troop of Masquers shin'd,
Virtues did seem with Beauties there combin'd.
That Man crown'd Fortune's Favorite confest,
By whom this Pearl, conjugal Gem possest.
Her costly Cloaths upon the ground, beside
Rich Jewels worn chief rank Gentile imply'd:
Whose worth although conceiv'd Transcendent, rare;
Why should his Person, Parts, Birth join'd despair?
Till view'd that Princess, Queen of the Creation;
In whose fair Eyes bright troop of Masquers shin'd,
Virtues did seem with Beauties there combin'd.
That Man crown'd Fortune's Favorite confest,
By whom this Pearl, conjugal Gem possest.
Her costly Cloaths upon the ground, beside

Why should his Person, Parts, Birth join'd despair?
