21. Epigram.

Egenus (when his owne estate was spent)
To raise his Fortunes did a meanes inuent,
And finding, that by begging, many got
A faire estate, who scarse were worth a groat,
Beganne to begge, and got so true a vaine,
Nothing seem'd hard (by begging) to attaine.
And where his owne desert was wanting found,
Vrg'd others bounty (to bestow) a ground,
But he (that made of misery a sport,)
Was for his boldnes, whipt out of the Court.
