Take Precautions

In any number of ways it would be wise
for the wily University students to take a
number of precautions this Easters Weekend.
Certainly all of us look forward to the revels
that are sure to be just a bit bigger, longer,
and more hilarious than the ones in preceding
years, but there are dangers of which the
student and his erstwhile date should be
aware.

It seems with the great influx of people
from outside the University community
despicable thefts and assaults take their toll.
Students living in the dormitories are
reminded by their counselors that a locked-room
policy could prevent loss of valuables
while the student is away enjoying the many
activities of the weekend.

Students who attend fraternity parties
should be wary of outsiders who have been
known to pilfer a house or purses, watches
and wallets while the party rages on the lower
floors. The guards stationed at the doors of all
of the fraternities should help to alleviate this
situation, though.

All students, male or female, should
exercise extreme caution while walking
around the Grounds at night. Students should
try to avoid isolated, untraveled, and
unlighted areas which have been the scenes of
several violent assaults on the past few big
weekends.

Just a general policy of common sense by
all the party-goers should be all that is
necessary to make the weekend a truly
delightful one. All we need is some cooperation
from the weatherman to guarantee
another ecstatic spring explosion.

The staff of The Cavalier Daily wishes
everyone a successful Easters, and hopes that
thoughtless behavior or lack of some sort of
precaution will not spoil what promises to be
another great weekend at the University.
