Overseers of the Poor
The following is a list, in order, of the Overseers
of the Poor, who succeeded the Vestries in caring
for the poor of the County, and in certain other
civil duties, from 1787 to 1802; from their records
in the Vestry Book of Truro. Elections of Overseers
were held every three years.
