All to leave and follow thee;
Naked, poor, despised, forsaken,
Thou, from hence, my all shalt be:
Let the world neglect and leave me,
They have left my Saviour too:
Human hopes have oft deceived me,
Thou art faithful, thou art true.

Perish earthly fame and treasure,
Come disaster, scorn and pain,
In thy service pain is pleasure,
With thy favour loss is gain:
Oh! 'tis not in grief to harm me,
While thy bleeding love I see:
Oh! 'tis not in joy to charm me.
When that love is hid from me
