[Moses might lead to Jordan's tide]
Arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, &c.
—i. 2.

But there surrenders his command;
Our Joshua must the waves divide,
Bring us into the promised land:
Train'd by the law, we see our place,
We gain the' inheritance by grace.
