IDEM.

How canst thou lie sleeping so calmly,
And know that I still am alive?
My old passion returns, and the fetters
That hold me from thee will I rive!
Dost thou not remember the legend,
How once a deceased lover-knave
Came at midnight to visit the loved one,
And fetch'd her away to his grave?
Oh, believe me, my dearest and fairest,
Dearest love, fair asleep on thy bed,
I live, and am ten times as strong as
Twice ten lover-knaves that are dead!
