Esther 7. 9.
And the King said, hang him thereon.
Promotion is the Pinacle, from whence
Pride breakes the neck of a good Conscience.
A tot'ring Piramid of guilded Sorrow,
That's built to day, & thrown quite down to morrow:
For 'tis th' ambitious Man's Eye-soar to see
One great; and himself unadvanc'd to be,
Then leave the Court, and learn at home to dwell;
Lest that you end like wise Achitophel.
