Ed Marks and Jay Conner
have led a host of Cavalier
soccer players to post-season
honors on the state and
conference levels.

Marks, a tri-captain and
center fullback, was the only
Cavalier to make the first
All-ACC team announced
yesterday. He also was on the
first all-state team announced
last week.

Connor was named the most
valuable player in the state last
week by vote of the coaches at
Virginia colleges, made the first
all-state team for the third
consecutive year, and was
named to the second
all-conference squad.

Four Cavaliers made the
second All-ACC team. In
addition to Connor, half-back
and tri-captain Jay Ziehl, goalie
Scott Peyton, and forward Phil
Crane made the squad.

Ziehl joined Marks and
Connor on the first all-state
team, while Crane made the
second team, and half-back
Sam Crosby made honorable
mention.
