Prism Season Opens

By David Burke

At the end of a long walk from
the Rotunda on the left side of
Rugby Road probably exists the
only coffee house this side of
Metropolitan Washington.

Leased in a white house which
apparently used to be a residence
before some walls were knocked
down and a stage set up, Prism
offers a close, relaxed atmosphere
to enjoy good folk music.

Opening its second week-end of
the 1970-71 season will be Wil
Smith of Syracuse, New York, who
will do a set composed of original
and contemporary folk on Friday.

Following him on Saturday
night will be Phyllis Knight,
performing her own material, and
Chris Crum, primarily doing
contemporary folk.

Cover charge is .50 and drinks
are on sale for a slight sum. Also,
on the premises are a newly-opened
Head Shop and the Solidarity
Bookstore. Doors open at 8:00 and
acts start at 9:15.
