LEAVES OF ABSENCE
The following resolution was adopted:
- RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
- Ms. Berniel B. Bjorklund, Assistant Professor of German, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for teaching and research at Columbia University.
- Mr. Glen L. Dunlap, Lecturer in Business Administration, for the period September 1, 1982 through May 31, 1987, one half time, in accordance with the Board of Visitors' approved half-time retirement agreement.
- Mr. Robert P. Flood, Associate Professor of Economics, for one semester, effective September 1, 1982, to visit the Research Division of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.
- Mr. Gerald P. Fogarty, Associate Professor of Religious Studies, part-time, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for research.
- Mr. James N. Galloway, Associate Professor of Environmental Sciences, part-time, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for research.
- Mr. Paul M. Gaston, Professor of History, for one semester, effective January 16, 1983, for research.
- Mr. Paul Light, Assistant Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, for one semester, effective January 16, 1983, to accept a Congressional Fellowship.
- Mr. Paul Light, Assistant Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, part-time, for one semester, effective September 1, 1982, to accept a Congressional Fellowship.
- Ms. Linda A. Moore, Assistant Professor of Nursing, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for full time study at the University.
- Mr. Clark Nardinelli, Assistant Professor of Economics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for writing and research.
- Mr. David M. O'Brien, Assistant Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, to accept a Judicial Fellowship at the Supreme Court.
- Ms. Cynthia F. Raines, Assistant Professor of Nursing and Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs, part-time, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, to enter doctoral program at the University of Maryland.
- Mr. Carlos Ramos-Gil, Professor of Spanish, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for personal reasons.
- Mr. Walter B. Ross, Associate Professor of Music, part-time, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for research.
- Mr. Gilbert W. Roy, Associate Professor of Chinese, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for research and as Director of Chinese Cooperative Program of Council on International Educational Exchange at Peking University.
- Mr. William C. Saslaw, Professor of Astronomy, for one semester, effective September 1, 1982, to do research at Cambridge University.
- Mr. Michael R. Sexton, Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Science, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1982, for further study.
- Mr. R. Jack Weber, Associate Professor of Behavioral Science, The Darden School, for one semester, effective September 1, 1982, to extend sabbatical leave.
- Mr. Jon D. Whitman, Assistant Professor of English, for one semester, effective January 16, 1983, to accept a N.E.H. Fellowship.
