[Self Thy word would fain diminish]

Ye shall not add unto the word, &c. —iv. 2.

Self Thy word would fain diminish,
Pride Thy word would fain increase,
But what Thou art pleased to finish
Never can be more or less;
All Thy word without addition
Renders us for glory meet,
Fits us for the blissful vision,
Makes the man of God complete.
