[Thy word, O God, as right and just]
Vex the Midianites, and smite them.

Thy word, O God, as right and just
We faithfully receive,
Who wouldst, that no enticing lust
Should unmolested live:
A Midianite we will not spare,
(If Thou Thy grace supply,)
But all that did our souls ensnare
On Jesu's cross shall die.
