National press coverage is hard to come by
in Charlottesville, but when so eminent a man
as former President Johnson is in town, the
press is not far behind. Unfortunately, most
of the news on this trip was bad news, due to
Mr. Johnson's serious heart attack and his
stay in University Hospital.
We regret that his visit to Charlottesville
turned out to be so unpleasant, and we share
the concern of his family and the nation for
his health. Press releases indicate that he is
feeling somewhat better and is resting
comfortably now and that his condition is
improving.
We feel we speak for the University
community in wishing Mr. Johnson a quick
recovery and in hoping that his next visit to
Charlottesville will be more enjoyable.
