The Whole Works of William Browne | ||
Looke as the feeling
Plant (which learned Swaines
Relate to grow on the East Indian Plaines)
Shrinkes vp his dainty leaues, if any sand
You throw thereon, or touch it with your hand:
So with the chance the heauy Wood-nymphs told,
The Riuer (inly touch'd) began to fold
His armes acrosse, and while the torrent raues,
Shrunke his graue head beneath his siluer waues.
