The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||

105.
[Troops of violent sins and lusts]
Gad, a troop shall overcome him, &c.
—xlix. 19.
Troops of violent sins and lusts
Have oft my soul subdued,
Yet my soul in Jesus trusts,
And His victorious blood;
Held by Him, I hold Him fast,
In humble confidence to prove
More than conqueror at last
Through my Redeemer's love.
