Dear Sir:
We assume that Mr. Heblich's
article, "Distant Travel Required to
Meet Virgina Belles" in the September
orientation issue was all a
big put-on - (C'mon, girls, you can
take a joke. All that male chauvinism
was just to amuse and
titillate the first-year men, to
initiate them to the Virginia stud
farm. Mr. Heblich didn't really
intend to have us believe that the
"playboy" atmosphere of male
arrogance here was the truth)! -
However, we take your joke seriously.
We likewise expect the
Cavalier Daily to take its editorial
positions and its role in reflecting
and molding student opinion seriously.
-When will the staff cease to
aid in the perpetuation of the
tradition of male chauvinism at the
University?
