My sweete, you aske what life I liue:
Euen suche a life as you me giue,
Distressed, dolefull, barde from reste,
As bad as well can be expreste:
This is the life for certaintee,
That you my deare doe giue to me.

[54]

You doe demaunde my deare beside,
What mates a daies with me abide:
Cares, sicknesse pale, and greef of harte,
Paine, twitching throwes, & scalding smart,
Sighes, sobbes, and teares, and great vnrest,
As bad, as well can be exprest.
Companions these and mates of mine,
These you my deare to me assine.
