Crescent Rolling Mills

The Crescent Rolling Mills at Bristol, Virginia-Tennessee,
were originally erected at Max Meadows,
Virginia. Part of the machinery was removed to
Bristol in the fall of 1905 and construction work commenced
on the Virginia side of the State Line on November
1st, 1905. The plant was first put in operation in
June, 1906.

There are ten double puddling furnaces, five heating
furnaces, two forge fires and three trains of rolls
(one 9, one 12, and one 18-inch); product, merchant
bar iron; annual capacity, 20,000 tons; fuel, coal.
