[Fain would I, Lord, my household lead]
I know him, that he will command his children, &c.
—xviii. 19.
Fain would I, Lord, my household lead
In all the paths of righteousness,
And train them up, an holy seed,
To serve Thy will, and spread Thy praise:
Implant in me the patriarch's mind,
My sacred cares and toils approve,
And bless the church I leave behind,
The children of my faith and love.
