SCENE IV.

Enter Segimund.
Arminius.
Why, Segimund, that eager haste?—What means
That sudden clangor?

[A trumpet is heard at a distance.
Segimund.
As I took my station
Far as the verge of yonder level plain,
My straining eye perceiv'd a well-oar'd galley,
Cross the Visurgis: From the highest mast
The olive branch, the harbinger of peace,
Was manifest to view.

Arminius.
