Seatonian Poems | ||
XIV.
He wills not, as in other days,Such trophies of His might to raise:
Another war must now be tried,
O follower of the Crucified!
This is the triumph thou must win,
To suffer, rather than to sin.
All pangs to bear, all woes to dare,
To yield thy lingering breath,
And with the Son of God to share
The highest victory, Death!
