MWC Concert
Series Opens
With Odetta

The Mary Washington College
Concert Series for 1971-72 will
open Thursday, with a performance
by Odetta, the popular folk singer.

It is the first of five headline
attractions scheduled for the
current school session. Other
attractions include Seals and Crofts,
a lock group, on Thursday, October
21; The National Ballet, Monday,
November 8; the Canadian Opera,
Monday, March 6; and the
Pro-Musia of New York on
Thursday, April 27.

All performances will be
presented in George Washington
Auditorium and are scheduled to
begin at 8:00 p.m., with the
exception of the National Ballet
performance, which will begin at
7:30 p.m.

As in the past students and
other members of the Mary
Washington College community will
have an opportunity to obtain
tickets before they go on sale to the
general public. Season tickets for
the entire concert series will not be
sold to the general public this year.
Tickets for individual
performances will cost $2.00.

The Canadian Opera has
announced that it will present the
comic opera "Orpheus in Hades" in
its performance at Mary
Washington, while the Pro-Musica
will present "An Entertainment for
Elizabeth."
