松の葉の細き葉毎におく露の千露もゆらに玉もこぼれず
matsu no ha no
hosoki hagoto ni
oku tsuyu no
chitsuyu mo yura ni
tama mo koborezu
on the pine needles,
each of the slender needles,
a dewdrop rests—
a thousand pearls lie
quivering, yet never fall
