Foresight

—ed.

At a time when the majority of
students at a number of large
universities can make their way to
classrooms, libraries and
laboratories only while police and
National Guard stand watch on the
campus, it must occur to them to
wonder - as it must to alumni,
many teachers and all
administrators - why one or
another of these institutions of the
higher learning did not
foresightedly adopt for its motto a
verse from Ecclesiastes:

"For in much wisdom there is
grief; and he that increased
knowledge increased sorrow."
