Book against book.” “Agreed,” I said:
But 'twas the truck of Diomed!
—And yet, in Fairy-land, I'm told
Dead leaves—as these—will turn to gold.
Take them, Sir Alchemist, and see!
Nothing transmutes like sympathy.
