EPITAPH
ON A GOLD FISH.
Its thoughtless moments quickly told,
Here lies a Fish whose scales were gold;
But the rich prize could not from death
One moment stay its fleeting breath!
Here lies a Fish whose scales were gold;
But the rich prize could not from death
One moment stay its fleeting breath!
Reader, on Gold then ne'er depend,
At best a weak and faithless friend!
But seek that treasure which can save
Beyond the all-devouring grave!
At best a weak and faithless friend!
But seek that treasure which can save
Beyond the all-devouring grave!
