RESOLUTION ON TRANSFER OF THE BLUE RIDGE SANATORIUM

• WHEREAS, the President and the Finance Committee have recommended that the University acquire Blue Ridge Sanatorium from the State Board of Health and have recommended the approval of a document describing the terms to be included in a contract between the State Department of Health and the University and a draft of proposed legislation to be introduced in the next session of the General Assembly;
• BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Visitors hereby approves in principle the plans for the transfer by the State Board of Health to the University of Blue Ridge Sanatorium and that the appropriate officers of the University be, and they hereby are, authorized to urge the adoption by the General Assembly of legislation, in a form similar to the proposed bill exhibited to the meeting, effecting the transfer and to draft a contract between the University and the State Department of Health, containing the terms described in the contract requirements document exhibited to the meeting, covering the operation and financing of Blue Ridge Sanatorium, and to do all other things necessary and proper to accomplish the transfer.
