HER FACE
I stood in sombre dreaming
Before her image dear,
And saw, in secret wonder,
Living my darling appear.
Before her image dear,
And saw, in secret wonder,
Living my darling appear.
About her mouth a smile came,
So wonderful and wise,
And tears of some still sorrow
Seemed shining in her eyes.
So wonderful and wise,
And tears of some still sorrow
Seemed shining in her eyes.
My tears, they too were flowing,
Her face I could not see,
And oh! I cannot believe it,
That my love is lost to me.
Her face I could not see,
And oh! I cannot believe it,
That my love is lost to me.
