Individuals Request

The story in yesterday's
Cavalier Daily implied that it
was the NROTC unit that was
requesting the funds rather
than individual students
comprising the Honor Guard.

The Honor Guard is a
volunteer organization
comprised of students in the
NROTC battalion and carries
no special credit. It represents
the University in parades and
other ceremonial functions.

In the past, a small portion
of the funding of the Honor
Guard came from the activities
fee of $10 each member of the
battalion pays. The rest of the
costs for functions in which
the Honor Guard participates is
borne by its individual
members.
