SCENE III.

A Wood.
Enter Oberon.
Ober.
Where, where is Robin? blest in love,
I would see all its blessings prove!
And where these combatants? I fear
Still some new error. (Music.)
Hark! he's here!

Puck (behind.)
Puck.
I'll apply to thy eye,
Gentle lover, remedy.

[Music.]
(A part of the Wood opens—a Mist is seen —the Mist gradually disperses, and Lysander is discovered asleep on a flowery Bank, Puck standing by him, with the Herb in his hand.)
Puck.
When thou wak'st, then thou tak'st
True delight, in the sight
Of thy former Lady's eye.
Hermia shall Lysander meet;
Helena Demetrius greet;
So shall vanish mutual pain,
And each shall have his love again.

(Puck squeezes the Juice into Lysander's Eye, and the Wood shuts up again.)
Ober.
Our work is o'er,—we've made amends,
And here the lovers' contest ends.
Come one, come all! And now, till break of day,
Through the Duke's palace every Fairy stray;
Dance we in Theseus' house triumphantly,
And bless it to all fair posterity!

AIR—Oberon.—[Bishop.]
To the best bride-bed will we,
Which by us shall blessed be!
With this field-dew consecrate,
Ev'ry Fairy take his gait.
Enter all the Fairies.
In Theseus' house give glimmering light,
By the dread and drowsy fire,
Every Elf and Fairy Sprite,
Hop as light as bird from brier.
CHORUS.
In Theseus' house, &c.
