Blood Drive
December 1st is the date set for the
University Blood Drive coordinated by the
Office of Volunteer Community Service in
Madison Hall. On that date students and
members of the faculty will be asked to
donate one pint of blood to the Red Cross
at Westminster Church on Rugby Road.
A quota of 100 pints has been set.
Reportedly, a person has 12 or 13 pints
of blood in his system, and he can easily
afford to donate one pint every two
months. Blood received during the drive will
be provided free to hospitals and emergency
centers.
Because of Thanksgiving Recess, donors
must sign up prior to Nov. 25. Students
under 21, who have not previously given
blood, must furnish a letter of permission
from a parent or guardian. Donors may sign
up at the table on the second floor of
Newcomb Hall or at Madison Hall.
It is important that donors commit
themselves now in order to insure that the
quota is met.
