Privileges Remain
Dean Whitney stated that
women may now live in any
section of Charlottesville, may
live in apartment buildings or
houses where men also reside,
and may live in first floor or
basement apartments. These new
privileges will remain in effect
despite the action of the administration.
Last semester the Housing
Committee made 75 spaces available
in the Monroe Hill houses.
The 100 spaces which have now
been granted are only an addition
of 25. Dean Whitney stated
that the original 75 places have
already been filled.
However, sources in the administration
have stated that there
are approximately 700 spaces
open in the men's dormitories
this semester and that projections
are for an equal number
next year.
