2 To the great Ladies of the Court.

I haue beene told, most Noble courtly Dames,
That ye commend some of my Epigrams:
But yet I heare againe, which makes me pensiue,
Some of them are, to some of you offensiue.


Those that you like, I'le giue, and aske no guerdon,
So that you grant those you mislike, you pardon.
Both are the fruitlesse fruits of idle houres,
These for my pleasure reade, and those for yours.
