Now with a sort of doubtful whistle He wafer'd close his warm epistle,
And without pause, he thought it best
To leave the letter thus address'd:
“This packet Susan's bid to take, When Madam chuses to awake.”
This done he did no longer wait,
Punch ready stood;—he mounted straight,
