EPIGRAM.

[Said Death to Pol Sly, “Put no rum in thy tea]

Said Death to Pol Sly, “Put no rum in thy tea,
Or die as thy mother died, aged twenty-three.”
Pol gave him an answer that struck the churl dumb,
“My mother, you know, put no tea in her rum.”
