On the Pleasures of a Country Life.

How Happy are the Nymphs and Swains,Who dwell on the Idalean Plains!
No Gares break in upon their Ease,
But All is Harmony and Peace. Cho.
No Cares break in, &c.

The Nymphs without a Frown appear,And look as Pleasant as they're Fair.
Each does her Faithful Partner prize,
And meets him with Consenting Eyes. Cho.
Each does her Faithful, &c.

III
No Distant Airs they know, nor Arts,To torture their Poor Lovers Hearts;
But freely they disclose their Mind,
And prove as Constant as they're Kind. Cho.
But freely they disclose, &c.
IV
Thus, like the First Blest Pair, they live,And Joys reciprocally give;
Thus spend their Days without Offence
In God-like Love and Innocence. Cho.
Thus spend their Days, &c.
