Power Shut-Off
A power shut-off in Newcomb
Hall last night necessitated
this issue of The Cavalier
Daily to go to press two and a
half hours before its normal
deadline. As a result many news
stories that occurred last night
were not covered in today's
issue.
The reason for the shut-off
was attributed to work on the
Newcomb Hall electrical system
which required the shutting off
of all power in that building for
three hours starting at 9 p.m.
The Cavalier Daily was not
cognizant of the shut-off until
yesterday afternoon when a few
staff members happened to
notice scattered signs in Newcomb
Hall which referred to an
early closing of the building.
The director of Newcomb Hall
said he was informed of the
shut-off yesterday morning.
