Beta Bridge used to be as much a part of the University as coats and ties and the Honor System. In the past the bridge was used primarily as a post facto scoreboard where rare Wahoo victories were recorded for posterity. Messages on the bridge were limited to the tales of Cavalier athletic prowess until about two years ago when the Loyalists and the Irish staged a battle for the bridge in paint. But today messages of "God Save The Queen" and "Erin Go Bragh" have been replaced by the symbols of peace.
