ON CONSCIENCE,
As innocent of Crime.
Hail, soft companion of each guiltless breast!Whose smile is rapture, and thy bosom rest.
No music charms, nor joy its triumph brings,
If thine be silent, or untun'd its strings:
But these attun'd, our confidence is sure,
Our sleep refreshing, and our rest secure.
