[Poems by Tabb in] Father Tabb
WHERE ARMIES MET
I heard the distant summons loud
To battle, from the crested Cloud,
The vaunting trumpet of the Gale,
The rattling musketry of Hail,
The sobbing of the Rain, and lo!
The silence of the shrouding Snow.
