The Grecian Story | ||
He sent his Boy with meaner Cloaths attir'd,
Who Nurse inform'd, one from some Friends desir'd
To speak with her, Field lay by th' Garden gate
Where remain'd; that Business prov'd of weight;
Bequeath'd to her fair, handsom Legacy;
Nurse said she'd follow him, more privately,
State Garden-way; strait Vandimont (being come)
To corner Nook withdrawn, disclos'd, in sum,
What Golden Show'r might cause, or Storm produce
The King's kind motion made if should refuse;
For private Meeting with her Lady, where
His Love might speak; found Grant, enjoy her there.
