88 Against lying Lynus.
I wonder Lynus, what thy tongue doth ayle,That though I flatter thee, thou still doost raile?
Yet to so gentle lyes, pardon is due.
A lie, wel told to some, tastes ill restoritie;
Besides, we Poets lie by good authoritie.
But were all lying Poetry, I know it,
Lynus would quickly proue a passing Poet.
