REPORT ON FACULTY AND UNIVERSITY RELATIONS POLICIES AND
PROCEDURES
The President advised that after a long and careful study and review the University Senate has approved a set of policies for faculty-University relation set forth in a document entitled "Faculty and University Relations Policies and Procedures". In order for the Board of Visitors to be conversant with these procedures, copies of the document have been distributed to members of the Board, and Mr. Richard Speidel, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Faculty Relations, discussed the policies and procedures and responded to questions at the Board's Educational Policy Committee meeting on February 2, 1972.
The President stated that hearing no objections from the Educational Policy Committee, he would officially approve and institute the provisions set forth in "Faculty and University Relations Policies and Procedures" with the understanding that these procedures do not alter the statutory powers and responsibilities of the Board of Visitors nor the appeal procedure to the Board of Visitors as outlined in the Manual of the Board.
