Reader be iudge betweene Mirus and me,
And as thou iudgest it, so it shall be.
I blame vnseemely things with modesty.
He railes vpon me most reprochfully.
I rayle at none, but hauing shewde the vice,

Onely commend the good, and warne the wise.
Should I commend the bad? but that were sinne,
Should I dispraise the good? that would please him;
Should I write nothing, and my pen refraine?
There is so much matter, who can abstaine?
